Popular lodge-style holiday home caravan park, Bluesky Resorts recently got in touch with the Hog Roast Dunbar team about hosting an unforgettable event for their 150 holidaymakers to enjoy. After reading through our list of menus and discussing our extensive options with our talented catering manager Steve, who was placed in charge of the large-scale event, the client opted for our highly demanded southern slow roast menu which features a buffet of tender meats, flavoursome sides, real crockery chosen by the customer; and of course, a friendly catering crew with years of experience under their aprons to serve guests and discreetly dispose of any mess created by the event.
When the big day finally rolled around, Steve, his father John, and the rest of the Hog Roast Dunbar team arrived on-site in the early hours of the morning to begin the day’s preparations. Working towards the 2:00 pm serve time, the crew set up their trusty gazebo to shield them from the hot summer sun and quickly launched themselves into marinating the meats in our secret recipe rubs before cooking them using our Hog Master Pro.
Like a well-oiled machine, the Hog Roast Dunbar team worked quickly and efficiently to meet their deadline, and by the time guests began arriving at the outdoor eating area, the condiments were lined up and the gluten-free rolls were piled beside a collection of Memphis style crunchy coleslaw, Greek salad and seasonal green leaf salad on one side; and towers of eco-friendly wooden crockery and cutlery on the other. Platters of creamy mac and cheese and skin-on southern style whole baked potatoes were kept warm beside the selection of succulent meats which included BBQ pork butt, Texan 24 hour beef brisket, cajun spiced whole roast chickens and fall of the bone Louisiana sticky pork ribs. Non-meat-eaters were given an alternative choice of grilled vegetable skewers with the option of added haloumi which went down a real treat!
The day was a huge success and with more than enough food to go around, all of the guests left the event with full bellies and a few even asked the Hog Roast Dunbar team about the private party catering options we have on offer.
