FAQ

Q. How much will it cost?
Every customer has differing requirements. We work closely with the customer to understand each individual event and their individual needs. The hog roast price that is quoted reflects this, once the price is agreed there are no hidden extras.

Q. Can you provide other meat such as lamb or chicken?

Yes. Our hog roast machines are universal and come with various attachments so that we can cook a wide variety of meat. We also have standard ovens and hot plates to cater for vegetables, sausages, burgers and our vegetarian options.

Q. Can you provide drinks?

With over 20 years experience we pride ourselves in being able to cater to our clients individual needs and requirements. We can provide a drinks service which can include tea and coffee or a full bar service. Alternatively if you want to provide your own drinks we can supply bar staff / serving staff for your BYOB bar.

Q. What will happen if it rains on the day of my event?

Don’t worry! We’re prepared for the Scottish weather and we do always bring a gazebo to shelter the food from the rain. Alternatively we can cater inside as long as the area is well ventilated or cook under a gazebo and serve your food inside! If your event is outdoors we do always suggest having a plan B to protect your guests from the elements.

Q. What happens if after booking some guests cant come. Will the price be reduced?

The price quoted takes into account many costs including getting to the event, hire of any equipment, the staff involved as well as the food. If the reduction in guests is significant then this may have to be adjusted. Our aim is to ensure that you are a satisfied customer and you feel that you have had a wonderful service for the price quoted.

Q. Is it possible for my guests to eat off real plates rather than disposable ones?

Yes we can provide china crockery for an extra cost, the prices will be noted on your menus. Our menu prices do all include high quality disposable plates and cutlery unless requesting for china crockery.

Q.  How long does it take to cook a pig?

The cooking time does vary on the size of the pig and the method of cooking, such as hog roast or spit roast. On average we do suggest cooking the pig for 1.5 hours per 10 kilos. As the saying goes, you can’t rush perfection!

Q. What happens if shortly before the event we need to increase the number of guests?

The price quoted takes many things into account as well as the number of people to be catered for. Depending on the number of extra guests there may be an additional charge. This will not be a problem with a little bit of notice for us.

Q. In what ways can a hog roast be served?

There really aren’t too many things that we can’t do with a hog roast. It is up to you. If you want it to be served in a particular way then let us know and we’ll try to help. Currently we find the most popular method of serving to be pulled pork, soaking up the delicious juices created by the pig.

Q. Do all your machines come with a chef?

Each menu specifies whether or not a chef is included in the price, if you are unsure please do give us a call to check.

Q. Does it cost extra if we want waiters?

Some of our menus include waiters in the price but if you pick a menu that doesn’t then there may be an additional charge.

Q. When hiring one of your machines do we need to clean them before we give them back?

It would be appreciated if you were to give the hog roast machine back in the same condition that we gave it to you in.

Q. What happens if I want to change the menu at the last minute?

We aim to make your event perfect so if we have enough time we will do everything in our power to make the changes you want. We always aim to accommodate for every given request and with appropriate notice we can ensure that we do. Understandably same day or day before changes can be hard to meet.
