Hog Roast Glenrothes Battle the Elements and Cook Up a Storm

Ahh summer in Scotland…days filled with sunshine and blue skies…sorry make that cloud, rain and wind! Hog Roast Glenrothes were invited by Hassia to cater for her event for 70 people last week at Wester Balgarvie Farmhouse near Cupar in the Fife countryside. We set up our marquees outside despite the sky looking very grey and ominous!

Hog Roast GlenrothesOur teams can set up outdoors or indoors, depending on the size of your space and if it is well ventilated. This is completely up to you but a bit of rain won’t put us off! Our client had requested that they provide their own kosher meats and we were able to cook them BBQ style on the day. We grilled a range of sausages and burgers, for vegetarian guests we cooked up some vegetarian skewers and chips as a side. Catering Manager Steven and the Hog Roast Glenrothes team prepared the food beautifully but when it was ready to serve the heavens opened and the rain was torrential! Not to be stopped by bad weather they continued serving in spite of the rain with guests running out to get their food then taking shelter indoors!

Sometimes challenges can emerge during an event especially with uncontrollable forces such as the weather, however, our teams are so professional and still able to provide you with exceptional food whatever the weather. The show must go on! Hassia and her guests were so impressed with how Steven and Hog Roast Glenrothes handled the situation and still managed to have a great day. Credit to the team for working through the horrendous conditions and overcoming these challenges make us better and even more professional!
