The Hog Roast Kingshouse team truly put the “hog” in Hogmanay at Christopher’s annual New Year’s Eve party in the countryside. With friends and family converging from all corners of the country, the guest list swelled to an impressive 120 people. Fortunately, Christopher’s expansive home and garden provided ample space for the revelry, but when it came to the feast, he wisely opted to leave the cooking to the experts – a.k.a. us!
Our catering manager, Steve, stepped up to the plate (pun unintended!) with our Hog Roast Menu 3, otherwise known as a lip-smacking display that promises to appease every palate. This meant Christopher could kick back and enjoy his party without the worry of overseeing the kitchen chaos.
Steve’s culinary prowess shone through as he crafted a traditional hog roast spread for the meat loving guests, as well as BBQ pulled jackfruit rolls with plant-based slaw as the vegan alternative.
The magic began with the meat getting a pre-party makeover, rubbed down with salt and evenly scored all over to ensure the perfect crackling. In the hours leading up to the celebration, the Hog Roast Kingshouse team worked tirelessly to ensure the pork was cooked to perfection, infusing the air with the mouth-watering aromas of slow-roasted meat. To complement the hearty main, our catering team also prepared soul-satisfying sides like sage and onion stuffing, seasonal mixed salad, tomato and mozzarella salad, creamy coleslaw and a blend of sweet potato and regular fries. Infusing extra flavour, we also prepared a large batch of homemade applesauce.
As the clock ticked down to midnight, the party hit its stride. Christopher had arranged for fireworks and biodegradable lanterns to illuminate the night sky, which added an extra layer of excitement to the festivities. Guests revelled in karaoke, showcased their musical talents on the guitar, and happily indulged in Hog Roast Kingshouse’s buffet, creating a warm and personable atmosphere that brought everyone together in celebration.
The success of Christopher’s New Year’s Eve bash was a testament to the power of great food, good company, and expert catering.
