Much to our disappointment, summer in Scotland seems to have disappeared just as quickly as it arrived. While we had high hopes of enjoying weeks of paddling pool weather that the forecasters promised us and soaking up some much-needed Vitamin D in the process, the reality has been pretty bleak! Even when it’s not absolutely bouncing down, the skies remain a murky grey colour that hardly screams ”garden party”.
But if you thought we were going to throw in the towel and call it quits, well, then you obviously don’t know Hog Roast Eyemouth very well! We never let anything get in the way of us or our clients having fun. Nope, not even bad weather! Whether it’s rain, hail, thunder or snow, you can always count on our catering crew to pull on their aprons (and their anoraks), roll up their sleeves and get on with it.
Over the weekend, our catering manager, Steve, and the Hog Roast Eyemouth team showed just how unphased they are by the weather when they catered for a live music festival, which had been put together in the hopes of raising money for some fantastic causes. Sandra had been the one in charge of planning this marvellous event, but the dreich conditions had her concerned about how well the guests would fare on the day, especially as it was too late to change venues.
To help put her mind at ease, Steve had offered to include one of our marquees for the guests to shelter under and promised a flavoursome lunch that would keep everyone in high spirits. This compromise ended up working out really well for Sandra’s event, and she even decorated the inside of the tent to fit with the festival vibe, which added to the guests’ overall experience.
Hog Roast Eyemouth’s signature hog roast rolls were served to the ticket holders, who had come prepared to party in their welly boots and raincoats. Despite the rain, everyone had a brilliant time, and having a hot and tasty hog roast to pig out on between performances kept everyone in a great mood.
