With Flora’s 80th birthday on the horizon, her daughter Celia was determined to make it a day to remember. And, what better way than a surprise party?
She secretly booked the events room at the local bowling club, invited 130 guests, and teamed up with Hog Roast Perth to make sure the food was something everyone would remember. From our first chat with Celia, we understood she wanted this party to be unforgettable, so we worked together to design a menu that would satisfy every palate. We settled on our Hog Roast Dining Menu—a crowd-pleaser with something for everyone—and Celia loved knowing her guests wouldn’t go home hungry!
When party day arrived, Hog Roast Perth arrived early, ready to serve a stunning spread. Celia had done a beautiful job decorating the hall with fairy lights, balloons, and pops of green (Flora’s favourite colour!). We set up our equipment and got to work on preparing a fabulous buffet for all. For starters, we prepped a gorgeous selection of canapés: gourmet sausages, mini fish and chips, quiches, pizzas, and an Indian platter. Each treat was artfully arranged on bamboo platters to add that extra wow factor.
For the main course, we wanted flavours that matched the significance of the day. Our centrepiece was a tender, spit-roasted English lamb infused with garlic, rosemary, and a side of mint sauce. We also served up free-range chickens, paired with chipolata sausages and classic stuffing. For the plant lovers in the crowd, we prepared colourful grilled vegetable and halloumi skewers, served with tzatziki and sweet chilli dips, plus flatbreads.
And of course, no feast is complete without sides! We whipped up a classic Caesar salad, homemade coleslaw, a heritage tomato and mozzarella salad, and perfectly roasted new potatoes. Each dish was crafted with love, giving guests something delicious at every turn. As the guests entered, they couldn’t help but marvel at the stunning spread—but they had to wait for the guest of honour! Flora’s reaction was priceless as she walked into the decorated hall, surrounded by her loved ones.
From there, the party was in full swing. Flora, with a big smile, was first in line to dig into the food, and soon everyone followed, piling their plates high. Hog Roast Perth’s spread was a huge hit—by the time dessert rolled around, not a crumb was left on the platters!
