Halloween is just around the corner, and here at Hog Roast Dundee, the celebrations are in full swing! With Scotland going all out this year, we’re thrilled to be at the heart of so many fang-tastic events. Our calendar is packed with bookings, and we can’t wait to serve up some seriously delicious feasts at celebrations across the country!
Just last week, we had the absolute pleasure of catering a school disco that transported us right back to our own childhood days! The familiar scent of the gym hall, the flashing disco lights, kids decked out in their homemade costumes, and the DJ spinning classic tracks (Monster Mash, anyone?) created an atmosphere that buzzed with excitement. The PTA had put in a tremendous effort to make the event a success, and we were delighted to play our part by providing the catering.
Our superstar catering team—Miriam, John, and Ann—prepared our Southern Slow Roast Menu for the 250 – very excited – attendees. The menu was an instant hit, with BBQ pork butt, Texan 24-hour beef brisket, and Cajun-spiced whole roast chickens as the main attractions. As for our veggie and vegan guests, we had BBQ-pulled jackfruit rolls with zesty plant-based coleslaw that proved to be equally irresistible.
Of course, we couldn’t leave out the sides! Our indulgent macaroni and cheese, sweet potato and traditional fries, and a vibrant Greek salad – packed with crisp cucumbers and juicy plum tomatoes galore – made sure everyone had a delicious, balanced plate to tuck into.
The kids were loving every bite, calling our scran “brilliant” and eagerly refilling their plates in between dance-offs and spooky games. By the time the night wrapped up, our food had practically vanished, with only a few leftovers to spare. But nothing went to waste! Hog Roast Dundee packed up what was left and, at the school’s request, delivered it to a local homeless shelter, making sure every last bite went to good use.
As Halloween creeps closer, we’re gearing up for even more spooktacular events, and we can’t wait to bring our delicious flavours to more celebrations. If you missed out on a Hog Roast Dundee feast this Halloween, don’t worry—there’s always next year! Until then, have a happy (and tasty) Halloween!
