Can you believe that the summer holidays are over already? It feels like just yesterday that we were celebrating the beginning of the school break and commemorating with prom parties, leavers’ do’s and end-of-year gatherings. But alas, everything comes to an end, and while the kids might be gutted to be back in the classroom, we know that for many parents, the end of the summer break couldn’t have come quick enough as it signifies a return to routine and normalcy. Because, let’s be honest, keeping the kids occupied for 7 or 8 weeks, depending on what part of the country you live in, while juggling work and other commitments has been tricky.
For mum-of-three, Julia, her kids’ return to school lifted a huge weight from her shoulders as she no longer has to worry about finding childcare during the times she and her partner, Steve, are both at work. However, she was extremely still glad to have more time to spend with her family during the holidays, and as a last big hurrah, before the summer break ended, Julia had organised a ‘back to school’ blowout for the whole family, which Hog Roast Cowdenbeath was delighted to cater for!
Everyone was welcome to join in the fun, from grandparents, aunts and uncles to siblings, cousins and beyond, which took Julia’s guest list up to 79 people. With a range of ages to cater for, not to mention dietary requirements, Hog Roast Cowdenbeath’s catering manager, Steve, had recommended serving our Gourmet BBQ Menu, which includes a delicious selection of smokey meats, a vegan/vegetarian-friendly dish, vibrant salad options, mixed fries and super creamy coleslaw. Julia loved the sound of this menu and knew her family would too, so she immediately agreed to Steve’s suggestion.
On the day of the party, Hog Roast Cowdenbeath worked tirelessly to prepare this spectacular feast of handmade British beef burgers, gourmet sausages, succulent chicken kebabs, and meaty marinated spareribs, and BBQ pulled jackfruit for the crowd, who went wild for the irresistible flavours on offer! Everyone was pleased with the variety and quality on offer – even the notoriously fussy eaters, who were among the first to ask for seconds!
