No one – and we mean no one – is more excited about wedding season than the crew at Hog Roast Loch Lomond! Our aprons are starched, our tongs are ready, and our grills have been working overtime because love is definitely in the air… and it smells like slow-cooked ribs and sizzling sausages!
Earlier this month, we packed up our van and made our way to the bonnie, bonnie banks of Loch Lomond for Ginny’s big day. Tucked away on the south shore, Portnellan Farm is a dreamy slice of the Scottish countryside surrounded by rolling green fields (complete with friendly cows), glistening waters, and sunshine that made us feel like we’d landed on a tropical island. If heaven had a postcode, this would be it.
Ginny asked us to feed 130 hungry partygoers, and you better believe we delivered in style. From the early hours of the morning, Hog Roast Loch Lomond was firing up the grills and prepping a serious feast consisting of juicy beef burgers, smoky sausages, sticky spareribs, and Thai-spiced chicken kebabs that had everyone drooling. We didn’t forget our plant-based guests either – our grilled vegetable and halloumi kebabs were flying off the trays!
But it wasn’t just about the mains. Oh no. The sides were popping. Freshly fried sweet potato and traditional fries were served up crispy and golden, alongside bamboo bowls bursting with zesty coleslaw and fresh garden salads. To top it all off, our DIY sauce station let guests load up their plates exactly how they liked them – from smoky BBQ to sharp mustard and everything in between.
Guests were queuing with giddy excitement, their wedding outfits fluttering in the summer breeze and plates piled high with Hog Roast Loch Lomond goodness. We served up food, laughter, and good vibes all around – chatting with guests, sneaking extra ribs onto plates, and soaking in the joy of the day.
We’re beyond thrilled that Ginny trusted us with such an important part of her celebration. Nothing brings people together like great food, and it’s an honour to be part of memories that will last a lifetime.
Here’s to more weddings, more sunshine, and more feasting; Hog Roast Loch Lomond is just getting started!
