You could be forgiven for thinking spring had arrived ahead of schedule earlier this month! With the sky a brilliant shade of blue and not a cloud in sight, winter finally seemed to be loosening its grip. And for Leonie and Caleb, this unexpected gift of good weather couldn’t have come at a better time. It landed right on their wedding day, adding an extra sprinkle of magic to an already spectacular celebration!
Speaking of magic, these two picked a one-of-a-kind venue. Tucked away on the edge of the Scottish Highlands, with breathtaking views of a shimmering loch and rugged mountains, it was the perfect blend of wild and romantic. With nature putting on a show just for them, Leonie and Caleb exchanged their vows in front of 70 of their closest friends and family. There were happy tears, heartfelt speeches, and plenty of champagne toasts before the real party kicked off – the feast!
With the weather on its best behaviour, the couple made a last-minute (and absolutely brilliant) decision to dine al fresco under a charming gazebo. And that’s where Hog Roast Fort William came in to work some culinary magic! Our catering manager, Steve, wowed the crowd with a traditional hog roast experience.
A full, free-range hog, cooked low and slow to perfection, was carved right in front of the guests, the crispy crackling making a satisfying crunch with every slice. Served up with fragrant stuffing, rich applesauce, and an array of sides, including a fresh heritage tomato and mozzarella salad, creamy coleslaw, crisp salad leaves, and buttery new potatoes with chives, it was a feast fit for the occasion.
And we didn’t forget the non-meat-eaters! Hog Roast Fort William’s legendary BBQ-pulled jackfruit rolls had even the carnivores doing a double take. To top it all off, each table was treated to overflowing charcuterie platters, piled high with deli meats, artisan cheeses, crusty bread, and juicy fruits – the perfect grazing boards for a long night of celebration. Then came dessert. Oh boy. Rich chocolate torte and creamy cheesecakes. These were so indulgent and so irresistible, that plates were scraped clean in record time.
As the sun set and the air cooled, the party moved inside to a cosy barn for dancing, laughter, and late-night revelry. Meanwhile, Hog Roast Fort William worked our behind-the-scenes magic, leaving the venue spotless before heading home.
The couple couldn’t have pictured a better day and we’re so glad we could help
