When we’re not being asked to handle weddings, birthday parties or corporate events, Hog Roast Glencoe can often be spotted out in the wild, hitting up local festivals and mingling with our fellow foodies! Just like last weekend when we were asked to attend an exciting agricultural show nearby.
Kris had given us the heads up weeks before this fair went ahead, giving our catering manager, Steve, plenty of time to prepare for the occasion. Eager to impress the masses with one of our saporous spit roasts, our team arrived at the fairground in the wee hours of the morning, where using our top-of-the-range catering equipment, Steve and the crew worked their aprons off to prepare our Classic Hog Roast Menu for the attendees.
After losing themselves in a world of dicing and chopping fresh veg for the salads, setting out the serving tables with bamboo crockery and cutlery, a basket of gluten-free rolls and wraps and a row of condiments and dips, the Hog Roast Glencoe team was surprised to see that the clock had forwarded several hours since their arrival and, as a result, the once-empty space was filling up with families! Before too long, the site was abuzz with hungry guests, who made a b-line for our stall, where our team happily treated them to a delicious roll stuffed with juicy and tender shredded pork, salted and crisp crackling, sage and onion stuffing and a spoonful of applesauce with coleslaw, sweet potato fries and salad sides.
All around Steve and the gang, everyone was having a wonderful time, and as they continued serving our mouth-watering hog roast to the food-loving punters, they watched as Highland cows, sheep, goats and horses were led from one paddock to another for various competitions, with a string of eager-eyed guests following close behind. To keep the children amused, there was also plenty of carnival-style entertainment, which also seemed to be popular among the adult guests!
If you ask us, things couldn’t have gone better for Hog Roast Glencoe at this event! Everyone was over the moon with our catering skills, so we are very grateful to Kris for letting us know about this special day.
