Corporate events really do get a bad reputation sometimes, don’t they? The second people hear the words “business function,” they start imagining awkward networking, lukewarm coffee and somebody fiddling with a PowerPoint that refuses to load properly. But honestly, it doesn’t have to be like that.
At Hog Roast Scotland, we’ve always believed the quickest way to change the atmosphere at any corporate event is through the food. Good food softens the room a bit. It gets people chatting naturally, sticking around longer and actually enjoying themselves instead of counting down the minutes until they can leave.
Over the years, we’ve catered everything from office celebrations and networking nights to company open days and awards evenings, and one thing stays the same every time: people remember what they ate.
That’s why we were excited when Amanda from Stevenson Marshall got in touch about an upcoming business event for 70 guests later this month. As a long-established solicitors and estate agency firm with roots stretching all the way back to 1888, they know a thing or two about building lasting relationships with people, which made us feel right at home from the start.
The event itself is set to take place at Kinblethmont House in Arbroath, and if there was ever a venue capable of making a corporate gathering feel a little more exciting, this is probably it. Surrounded by woodland and countryside views, the estate feels worlds away from the usual boardroom setting.
And then there’s the menu.
Amanda opted for one of Hog Roast Scotland’s most reliable crowd-pleasers: our signature hog roast will be served in fresh gluten-free rolls with juicy pulled pork, crispy crackling, sage and onion stuffing and applesauce piled high inside. Add a generous helping of traditional fries on the side and suddenly this is not your average corporate catering spread.
Of course, we’ll be making sure the veggie and vegan guests are just as well looked after. BBQ pulled jackfruit sliders and grilled vegetable and halloumi kebabs are both joining the line-up, because nobody should feel like they’ve ended up with the “backup option.”
The whole event is shaping up to be something genuinely enjoyable rather than simply another date in the work calendar, and we can’t wait to be part of it.
If you’ve got a corporate event coming up and you want it to actually be good, you know where we are. Get in touch with Hog Roast Scotland today and let’s make it memorable for all the right reasons.
