June has been a lot – but in the best possible way.
The events have been coming thick and fast this month, taking our team to some genuinely brilliant locations – but last week’s might just be the standout. We were invited to Boreland Loch Tay, one of Perthshire’s most spectacular wedding venues, sitting right on the edge of Loch Tay with the kind of views that stop you mid-sentence. The occasion? A pre-wedding celebration for one very happy couple, organised by Beena – mother of the groom – who had quietly taken the catering entirely off the couple’s plate and handed it to Hog Roast Perthshire.
Beena could hardly believe how refreshingly straightforward booking with Hog Roast Perthshire had been. From first enquiry to final serving, our catering manager Steven was on hand throughout to answer questions, talk through the menu and make sure every dietary requirement – including some serious nut allergies – was fully accounted for. Nothing was left to chance and nobody was left out.
With allergies carefully noted and the menu locked in, our team got to work. The centrepiece was a whole hog roast featuring pulled pork loaded into buns with sage and onion stuffing, shattering crackling and a spoonful of applesauce. Then, because no spread is complete without some serious sides, Hog Roast Perthshire rustled up some fresh Greek salad, mixed salad and creamy coleslaw, with classic and sweet potato fries ready to be dunked, stacked and generally enjoyed without restraint.
For guests not eating pork, juicy marinated chicken thighs were a brilliant alternative – popular enough that everyone was eyeing them up regardless of what else was on their plate – while grilled vegetable skewers covered the meat-free guests, and for the six guests with severe nut allergies, plain chicken portions were prepared completely separately, away from everything else, with full care taken by our team at every step.
We’re thrilled to say that thanks to Hog Roast Perthshire, every single guest had something genuinely good to eat and the atmosphere was relaxed, warm and buzzing with excitement for the big day ahead. Beena was delighted. The couple were relieved. And Loch Tay provided a backdrop that nobody is going to forget in a hurry.
