This past weekend, nestled in the historic charm of Dairsie Castle, something truly magical unfolded. Alexa and Tom tied the knot in the most picturesque setting, and Hog Roast Fife had the absolute pleasure of fuelling the festivities with an epic spread!
After a romantic ceremony, the food service kicked off at 6.30pm sharp, and it was love at first sniff for the 100 guests once they caught a whiff of our legendary hog roast.
Hog Roast Fife, led by the brilliant Steve, had been working seamlessly behind the scenes all afternoon to make sure every detail was spot-on. From sweet homemade applesauce to soft gluten-free rolls, no detail was forgotten.
The guests took full advantage of the bountiful spread we’d laid out and loaded their plates with a little bit of everything on the menu. And there was a lot to choose from. Savoury sage and onion stuffing, warm bread rolls and wraps, tomato and mozzarella salad, mixed salad, and creamy coleslaw added fresh, vibrant colour to the feast, while our herb-dressed new potatoes hit all the comfort-food notes.
But even that wasn’t the end – nowhere near!
For those craving a bit more, Hog Roast Fife carved up a succulent leg of lamb with rich gravy and mint sauce, sizzling chicken thighs, and crowd-favourite butcher’s style sausages. Oh, and let’s not forget the king of the sea – a whole roasted Scottish salmon. Flaky, delicate and flavour-packed, it was a huge attraction.
Of course, we believe every guest deserves a hearty meal, so we served up a vibrant vegetarian and vegan option: grilled vegetable and halloumi skewers (or minus halloumi for our vegan friends), tucked into soft wraps and drizzled with tzatziki or a bold, punchy sweet chilli sauce.
