This year’s Valentine’s Day was a very busy one for the Hog Roast Charlbury caterers, who were knee-deep in events every single day for an entire week leading up to the annual holiday – and even a few days after, as well! One of these events was a wedding, which saw Lucy and Shaun tie the knot in a beautiful ceremony, surrounded by almost 200 guests which included a mix of the couple’s friends, family and co-workers.
The ceremony and reception were both held at the same venue: a traditional Scottish castle, brimming with historical significance and surrounded by awe-inspiring countryside views of heather-covered hills and crystal-clear streams. With the weather on its best behaviour, the location was even more stunning than it normally would be at this time of year, which presented the perfect photo opportunity for the wedding photographer to take advantage of.
Whilst the couple were exchanging vows and later, posing for the camera, Hog Roast Charlbury was hard at work in the reception hall, which had been decorated to suit the couple’s traditional theme. Each of the tables had been dressed in a crisp white tablecloth and set with real crockery and cutlery. In the centre of each stood a bouquet of blooming flowers, tied together with a blend of the couple’s house tartans.
For the meal, Hog Roast Charlbury had prepared the Hog Roast Dining Experience Menu, which presented guests with a selection of canapés upon their arrival, followed by the option of a sumptuous slow roasted pig, juicy roast chicken with sage and onion stuffing and chipolata sausages or grilled veggie skewers with tzatziki dip and flatbread. Salad, veg and potato sides were also served in chafing trays for the guests to help themselves to and, for pudding, our catering manager, Steve, had whipped up vacherins of strawberries with passion fruit cream and chocolate profiteroles for the wedding party to dig into.
The newlyweds couldn’t have been more pleased with the results of Hog Roast Charlbury’s hard work. And with everyone in agreement that the food tasted absolutely divine and plenty to go around, nearly all of the guests indulged in extra helpings, which is always a massive compliment to us!
