Nothing gets us in the holiday spirit quite the way a carnival does! The dazzling lights of the fairground rides, the sound of laughter and excitement from attendees, the buzzing atmosphere and, when Hog Roast Dunkeld is involved, the glorious smell of a freshly-cooked hog roast. It’s like pure magic!
Every year, carnivals draw in crowds in their hundreds and even thousands, which is, of course, great news for Hog Roast Dunkeld, as we often get asked to handle the catering side of things. You know where this is going, don’t you?
Yes, last weekend was our most recent chance to attend one of these highly-anticipated community events, and our team had a belter of a time!
As always, our catering manager, Steve, led the team to success on the night by making sure the food we served was flawless in every way. From flavour to presentation, Hog Roast Dunkeld’s avid attention to detail shone through, which had the ticket holders eager to get their hands on our grub.
Fortunately, Hog Roast Dunkeld had made plenty of food to go around, so even though the venue was filled to the brim with hungry guests, we didn’t have to turn anyone away! Steve and the team had also made a conscious effort to make non-meat-eaters feel included by rustling up our famous BBQ-pulled jackfruit rolls with plant-based coleslaw and a sensational hickory sauce.
Everyone else tucked into our legendary hog roast rolls, which are as mouth-wateringly delicious as you’d expect. Picture gluten-free or wholemeal rolls filled to the brim with a generous portion of moist and tender pulled pork, a layer of sage and onion stuffing and pieces of crispy crackling, topped off with a dollop of homemade applesauce and served with salad and mixed fries. Sounds incredible, doesn’t it? Well, the guests at this event certainly thought so. In fact, we served many of them twice!
The event planners were really with Hog Roast Dunkeld’s involvement and have since been in touch to thank our crew for adding to the brilliant atmosphere and helping the guests to have a great time.
