When you envision your dream summer wedding, you no doubt are thinking of clear blue skies, warm sunshine, and a wonderful ceremony out in picturesque garden grounds. Unfortunately when you’re in Scotland, the chances of getting every single one of those things is a rare thing. The picturesque gardens we can do, of that there is little doubt. There are all manner of incredible wedding venues dotted around our lush green hills, glens, and lochs. The clear skies and sunshine is a little harder to come by, even in summer – as we all will know all too well after the last few weeks of the “Scottish summer” treating us to gale force winds near enough every day.
Still, however, when it is your special day you adapt as best you can; nothing is going to totally ruin the day. It helps, then, to also have a caterer like Hog Roast Inverness that are ready to adapt on the fly as well!
We were out at an incredible venue in Scotland for the wedding of Mr and Mrs McCraig. The pair had picked out their venue and date with the hopes of enjoying that dream ceremony out in the sun. When they contacted the Hog Roast Inverness team they said as much, and so we also got to work preparing a dining menu and catered service that would make use of their venue as best as possible. That meant canapes out in the garden along with champagne and fizz for guests as the bride and grooms party had their pictures down out in by the trees. Our chef’s were also to have our hog roast cooking off to the side as well for the ultimate Hog Roast Inverness dining experience.
Unfortunately with the last few weeks of winds, the McCraig’s had to make the decision to switch their plans and take the dining indoors. With our mobile roasting machines we can set up indoor or out, so not much changed for us on that front other than the service being conducted indoors. Come the day, however, we were able to set up our hog roast out in the garden at least with the cover of our marquee tent so that guests could still and catch some of the authentic hog roast experience with us! We’ll always do all we can to fulfil everything you want in your dream order, even where circumstances are against us!
