A busy weekend with a hog roast in Wellwood for 200!

Saturday saw another busy weekend for spitting pig Scotland, with a wedding at Dairsie castle and a 21st birthday party for a friend on his farm near Wellwood.

The small wedding at the castle was a tremendous day with glorious weather topped off with one of our own free range glouster old spot pigs with all the trimmings, sage and onion stuffing, fresh bread rolls crispy crackling, roast potatoes and salads. We have catered at Dairsie Castle many times before and as always it proved again to be a fantastic venue. With the wedding party suitably fed with leftovers left for lunch tomorrow we bid the farewell and wished the a good night.

The 21st birthday party in Wellwood was a slightly wilder affair, 200 hungry guests to feed, most of them I know through farming circles and involvement in the young farmers club movement. This would be a real test for our delicious pork, and again our slow roasted pulled pork was a hot favourite. We served 250 hog roast Wellwood rolls from one of the biggest pigs we have ever roasted. It went down a treat and we had many compliments.

With another busy weekend over we returned home for another late night to bed!
