People often ask us if we ever get tired of catering for weddings, and we always give the same simple answer: no, never! And that’s not just because it’s our job to say so. We genuinely love what we do, and one reason for that is getting to be part of so many unique celebrations.

No two weddings are ever quite alike, because every couple has their own ideas about how they want their big day to look and feel – and Debbie and Rob’s wedding earlier this month was a perfect example of that.
This non-traditional bride and groom wanted a relaxed, easy-going celebration without a rigid plan to follow. In fact, their welcome board even listed ‘winging it’ as the plan after the ceremony, encouraging guests to let their hair down and enjoy themselves. And with the beautiful, remote setting of East Grange Farm, The Loft Glamping and Camping, as their backdrop, they certainly had the perfect place to do just that!
Naturally, the food needed to match that laid-back atmosphere too, so Debbie and Rob asked Hog Roast Forres to create a bespoke menu packed with their favourite dishes. We kicked things off with canapés served on arrival, including antipasti skewers, goats’ cheese and beetroot crostini and chicken liver parfait. Just the thing to get everyone mingling while enjoying a few tasty bites!

When it came to the main course, the couple took inspiration from our Southern Slow Roast menu, choosing BBQ pork butt, Texan beef brisket and Cajun-spiced chicken, alongside grilled vegetable kebabs with tzatziki dip and optional halloumi. Traditional fries, pasta salad, Greek salad, mac and cheese, roasted potatoes and butchers’ sausages completed the spread, giving guests plenty of flavours and textures to explore.
And just when everyone thought they couldn’t possibly manage another bite, dessert arrived in style. Hog Roast Forres’ fresh strawberry vacherins with passion fruit cream and sticky toffee pudding gave guests two tempting ways to finish their meal – because let’s face it, there’s always room for pudding at a wedding.
With such a generous spread on offer, there was something for everyone to enjoy – and Hog Roast Forres’ informal serving style fitted the couple’s plans perfectly. No fuss, no unnecessary formality. Just fantastic food, happy guests and a couple that did things their way.
