If you’ve been keeping up with our blog for a while, you might remember that back in February, Spitting Pig Scotland mentioned welcoming a new venue into our little family of trusted partners. Well, it’s time for us to reintroduce Kinkell Byre: a stunning Scottish barn with panoramic views of the Fife coastline and bags of character to make any event feel truly one of a kind.
Since making things official, we’ve been lucky to work with the Kinkell Byre team on several occasions, helping countless couples celebrate their dream weddings with plenty of delicious food. If we’re honest, we get a little buzz of excitement every time we’re invited back here. So when the venue gave us the heads-up that they were hosting an open day on the 4th of October, we cleared the diary faster than you can say “crackling”.
With the event running from 12pm to 4pm, and couples travelling in from all over to see the venue in person, we knew this was our chance to shine. Spitting Pig Scotland’s team arrived early, said a quick hello to our besties at Kinkell Byre and found the perfect spot for our stand.
On this occasion, we decided to keep things relatively simple with a bold sign and a rustic wooden table, letting our food do most of the talking. And boy, did it talk. For most of the afternoon, a lively queue kept us on our toes, with hungry couples drawn in by the irresistible smells drifting from our stall.
And once people had tasted our luscious hog roast or nibbled their way around our charcuterie platter, the questions started rolling in. What’s on the menu? Can we customise it? How does it all work on the day? Spitting Pig Scotland ended up chatting with so many lovely couples about their wedding plans, menus and food – and a few even went a step further and made an official enquiry. That’s how convincing a good bite can be.
All in all, we had a fabulous day, and we’re so thankful to everyone who stopped by to say hello. We hope to see you again on your wedding day.
