There are birthdays, and then there are milestone birthdays. The ones that get a proper guest list, decorations that took actual effort and food that matches the occasion.
Turning 50 falls firmly into that second category – and Lindsay knew it.
With sixty guests on the list and a serious celebration to pull off, Lindsay needed catering that could hold its own against the moment. So, she came to Hog Roast Glasgow, and we were more than ready.
Here’s the thing about a hog roast that goes beyond the food itself – there’s a theatrical quality to it that very few other catering options can match. The spit, the smell drifting across the garden before anyone’s even arrived, the moment the carving starts and the whole crowd gravitates over. It creates a buzz. And when the food is this good, that buzz just keeps going.
Hog Roast Glasgow hog roasts start with free-range pigs sourced locally for the best possible freshness – because you can taste the difference, and we’re not willing to compromise on that. Cooked low and slow over hours until the meat is falling apart, then packed into soft baps with sage and onion stuffing, proper crackling and applesauce.
But as much as we love hog roasts here at Hog Roast Glasgow, we know not everyone is as passionate as we are. So, for guests not eating pork, we made sure nobody felt left out by offering butcher’s sausages, lemon and herb marinated chicken thighs and grilled vegetable kebabs with optional halloumi, tzatziki and flatbreads that added plenty of variety.
Sides came loaded too, with a line up of tomato and mozzarella salad, mixed salad, coleslaw and a piping hot potato dish that had people going back for more long after their first plate was cleared.
Lindsay was absolutely thrilled. Her guests – well, the empty plates and the second and third helpings said it all really. By the end of the afternoon, barely a crumb remained and the compliments were coming thick and fast for Hog Roast Glasgow.
Fifty years deserves a proper send-off into the next chapter – and Lindsay got exactly that.
