Hog Roast Fife Served A Feast Fit For Royalty At Backhouse Rossie Estate!

Scottish winter might be closing in fast (anyone else reaching for the hot water bottle yet?), but that’s not slowing us down at Hog Roast Fife! Rain, shine, or a bit of everything – which, let’s be honest, is the usual Scottish forecast – we’re still out and about doing what we love most: serving up proper farm-to-table feasts for our lovely customers.

One of our recent adventures took us to the stunning Backhouse Rossie Estate for Kimberley and Mark’s big day – and what a day it was! The venue had this fairy-tale written all over it – walled gardens, rolling views over East Lomond, and loads of history tucked away in every corner. Apparently, Mary Queen of Scots even hunted here. The cherry on top? Backhouse Rossie Estate only hosts a handful of weddings each year. So Kimberley and Mark’s celebration was something truly special!

Of course, it won’t be hard to guess our favourite bit of the day. Yes, it was the food! Because no wedding is complete without a proper banquet (and the setting called for something fit for royalty) Kimberley and Mark went for Hog Roast Fife’s signature hog roast. Let me tell you, the smell alone had mouths watering with anticipation.

Hog Roast Fife’s top caterers spent all afternoon on this menu, ensuring every detail was just right. From the crispiness of the crackling to the balance of flavour in the applesauce, we made sure no detail was missed out. And by the time the guests were ready to tuck in at 5:30pm, all of our hard work proved worth it. The hog meat was so soft and juicy it practically fell apart. We also had heaps of sides going: salad, creamy coleslaw, sweet potato fries, regular fries for the traditionalists, and some seriously juicy chicken thighs.

And because Hog Roast Fife likes to keep everyone happy, we made sure the vegetarians were well looked after too. The grilled halloumi and veg kebabs were a hit – especially with that cool tzatziki dip.

All in all, it was just one of those days that makes you smile. A happy couple, great food, happy guests, and a bit of Scottish charm to top it off. What more could we ask for?
