Hog Roast Dingwall Turned A Stormy Wedding into a Feast of Dreams!

Summer weddings in Scotland often come with a touch of unpredictability, but summer 2024 has been a downpour of epic proportions. Dubbed the wettest summer in a century, it’s been more about battling storms than basking in sunshine.

However, rain or shine, your wedding day can still be magical. Just ask Iona and Alexander, who tied the knot this past weekend amidst a torrential downpour, with a little help from Hog Roast Dingwall.

The couple had envisioned a fairytale outdoor wedding at a breathtaking Scottish castle, surrounded by lush greenery and historic stone walls. But as the rain came down in sheets, accompanied by fierce winds and chilly temperatures, their dreams of an outdoor ceremony quickly turned into a soggy reality.

Understandably disappointed, they made the last-minute call to move the celebration indoors. But with Hog Roast Dingwall in charge of the catering, the weather was just a minor hiccup.

The room itself was a sight to behold, with vaulted ceilings, charming stonework, and vibrant stained glass windows casting a warm glow over the wooden tables adorned with floral garlands and personalised wedding favours.

We were determined to turn this rainy day into a feast for the senses. After hours of careful preparation, we unveiled a buffet that would make even the dreariest weather seem like a distant memory.

Guests were treated to canape platters and welcome drinks followed by a buffet of whole-roasted free-range chickens seasoned with thyme and sea salt, sage and onion stuffing, and succulent butcher’s chipolata sausages; sirloin of beef brushed with mustard and served with Yorkshire puddings and rich red wine gravy.

For the vegetarians, we grilled colourful vegetable and halloumi skewers and paired them with flatbreads and tzatziki. To finish off the feast, we served decadent chocolate tortes and fresh fruit salads, topped off with tea, coffee, and mints.

Despite the weather, Iona and Alexander were overjoyed. The stunning setting and Hog Roast Dingwall’s incredible menu made the rain an afterthought, proving that even a washout wedding can be a day to remember!
